Ozark Plantation Residents Safe & Sound

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (June 22, 2012) Affiniti Management Services has relocated residents living in The Ozark Plantation community following a fire which damaged 8 units on Tuesday, July 19, 2012.  The fire, which broke out in a breezeway, caused major damage to two of the units and minor damage to the remaining six units.  Residents were relocated to comparable units at The Ozark Plantation while they await repairs.  The damaged units are expected to reopen within 90 days. Affiniti Management staff and residents took immediate action when the fire broke out to alert residents and used fire extinguishers to help contain the blaze.  Firefighters from Ozark were on the scene within five minutes and were joined by crews from Springfield, Nixa, Logan-Rogersville and Highlandville. “Our staff reacted promptly and effectively to minimize damage and to make sure everyone was safe.  We are so fortunate that no one was hurt and thankful for the quick response from our local firefighters and the Red Cross who were on hand to assist our residents” says Lonnie Funk, President of Affiniti Management Services. The cause of the fire is still undetermined, but is believed to have started in some empty boxes placed under the stairwell upon a resident’s move-in.  An investigation is currently underway.
